Jon McLaughlin - Things That You Say

I discovered this guy, in part, through Last.fm recommending him to me. When I started finding out more about him, I realized that I had actually heard, and really enjoyed, a few of his songs.

From his OK Now album, this song sticks out from the other tracks.

Kings of Leon - Use Somebody

I’ve only recently come to know of this band. After I heard them a few times on varies XM channels, they performed on SNL.

Yesterday, I finally got the album this song is from. Today, just a little while ago, I listened to it for the first time and feel in love. (rb)

Every Wednesday I tell myself I’m going to post a picture of myself, but every week I chicken out. Maybe next week… maybe.

Additional Issues

We all drooled at the new White House website, but here is a little nugget of goodness that we should all applaud. Found on the ‘Additional Issues’ page under the ‘Katrina’ heading, is a rather blatant swipe directed at former President Bush. Check this out:

“President Obama will keep the broken promises made by President Bush to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. He and Vice President Biden will take steps to ensure that the federal government will never again allow such catastrophic failures in emergency planning and response to occur.”

I, personally, think this is remarkable. A swipe at Bush? Yes. But, at the same time, I feel President Obama might be admitting something not many of us would; Bush had a few good ideas. via WhiteHouse.gov »
