Boston Globe: 'Suffering from 'roid rage'' → boston.com

Dan Shaughnessy pretty much sums up how I feel about Big Papi testing positive for PEDs. The point he made at the end of his video at the top of the page needs to be examined further. Not just because one of my boys was on the list, either.

“Our cheaters were better than your cheaters…”

The Beatles - In My Life

Tonight is, unfortunately, my last night at my best buddy’s house for the summer. While this song might not be the best at summing up my current thoughts and feelings and might totally confuse some onlookers, it will have to do.

I’ll keep this post short because if I didn’t, I would ramble on and on like I tend to do. So, Scott, bro, thanks for another epicly amazing summer. I’m honestly not sure what I would do without you.

“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity.” —Gilda Radner

Radiohead - Karma Police

An oldie but a goodie. This couldn’t fit my mood any better than it does right now.

“The repose of sleep refreshes only the body. It rarely sets the soul at rest. The repose of the night does not belong to us. It is not the possession of our being. Sleep opens within us an inn for phantoms. In the morning we must sweep out the shadows.” —Gaston Bachelard

Imogen Heap - First Train Home

This is the first single from Imogen’s long-awaited new album Ellipse. If this, along with the snippets she’s been tweeting and vlogging, is any indication of how awesome the August 25th release will be, I could not be more excited.

Shake Me Like a Money Dave Matthews Band

Dave Matthews Band - Shake Me Like a Monkey

I finally got my hands on DMB’s newest studio album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. After listening to it all the way through for the first time this morning, I tweeted about it. Basically, I said this cd is absolutely brilliant.

This track is one of my immediate favorites. I could not love it more than I do.

Crank up your speakers and take a listen. And, if you’re up for a challenge, try not to tap your toe while doing so.

Doves - Spellbound

Much like the track I posted by The Enemy a few weeks ago, I’d be willing to bet only a few of you guys have heard about this band or listened to any of their music.

I’ve noticed that, especially when it comes to audio posts, people on Tumblr generally only listen to tracks by artists they know. I wish that were different for a variety of reasons, but I digress for now.

This track is a standout for me from Kingdom of Rust, Doves’ fourth studio album. Take a listen if you’re into indie alternative rock type stuff.

If you like this, listen to The Enemy’s track I referenced earlier and tell me what you think of both.

Jaime Cullum - Twentysomething

I first stumbled upon Mr. Cullum years and years ago. Back then, this specific song was just a cheeky little tune with cool jazz beats. Now, thanks to Jonothon posting it, I’m rediscovering it again… and boy does it mean soo much more to me now than it did back then.

“Love ain’t the answer nor is work / the truth eludes me, so much it hurts. / But I’m still having fun and I guess that’s the key / I’m a twenty something and I’ll keep being me…” (rb)

DEVO - (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction

I never ever thought I would reblog and/or post a song by DEVO. That was before I heard this epic Rolling Stones cover by them.

It’s hard to believe this track was released in 1977. That was 10 years I was born and probably 8 or 9 years before I was even a thought. (rb)
