I Can’t Decide…
…which article to use for a presentation I’m doing on Tuesday. All three of them are from the Middle School Journal; all three of them have things worth discussing.
- Controversial Books in the Middle School: Can They Make a Difference?
- Creating a Shared Definition of Good and Bad Writing Through Revision Strategies
- Popular Music Helps Students Focus on Important Social Issues
My heart is telling me to use the first one, while my brain has come up with a really cool activity for the second. The third is almost too much of a gimme to use and some of my cohortians have sort of already touched on the topic.
I can probably already guess which one you guys would chose, but I’ll ask anyway- which article sounds the most interesting based on their title alone?

Pop music on social issues, though i’m skeptical about that truth… good v bad writing seems more legit and worthwhile

I’m gonna go with 1. I think middle school is a good time to start pushing independent thicking and analyzing.

3 definitely. Music has helped me make it through tough times far more than books.
