The Nation: ‘The CIA’s Secret Sites in Somalia’
This is a stunning exposé written by Jeremy Scahill who just returned from Somalia. If you don’t like reading, you can watch his segment on Democracy Now! where he talks at length about his reporting.

Just the fact that Music Midtown is returning to Atlanta after a five year hiatus is big. What’s even bigger is that Coldplay, my favorite band in the entire world, is headlining!
I have to go. I want to go so bad that I’m physically shaking. I have to go! The only way this could possibly be any cooler (if I get to go) is if one or both of my best buds get to go too! Hey, a dude can dream, no?
The headline says it all, no?
Not to give it away, but In case you don’t want to read the short article, troopers that worked the crash said he “would have likely survived if he had been wearing a helmet.”
I really shouldn’t have laughed as hard as I did when I first read this. Talk about proving your point. Wait, no. Ohh you know what I’m saying.
Kevin Sessums, whom I’m not familiar with, interviewed Neil Patrick Harris about hosting the Tonys, fatherhood, and more.
I didn’t think it was possible to respect NPH as a person more than I already did but then I read this interview. His answers to Mr. Sessums’ questions, especially those about a certain group of people hosting award shows, James Franco, and sex vs. sexuality, really made me feel good.
Anyone doesn’t doesn’t perpetuate stereotypes while perpetuate stereotypes (yes, you read that right) is someone I can lookup to.
Coca-Cola Transforms Headquarters With The Largest Single Building Illumination Ever
To celebrate 125 years, Coca-Cola has transformed its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, creating the largest single building illumination in the world. Covering more than 210,000 square feet, it is a spectacular visual “thank you” to everyone. All four side of the 26 story high tower will be illuminated every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening in May.
I really should make an effort to go Downtown and see this for myself. Having walked by, driven past, and flown over this building countless times I can tell you the epicness can probably only be measured in person.
Below is an advanced excerpt from an interview conducted between President Obama and CBS’s Steve Kroft. The full interview is set to air this Sunday on 60 Minutes.
Kroft: Did you see the pictures?
Obama: Yes.
Kroft: What was your reaction when you saw them?
Obama: It was him.
Kroft: Why haven’t you released them?
Obama: You know– we discussed this internally. Keep in mind that– we are absolutely certain this was him. We’ve done DNA– sampling– and testing. And– and so there is no doubt that– we killed– Osama bin Laden. It is important for us to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head– are not floating around– as– an incitement to additional violence. As a propaganda tool. You know, that’s not who we are. You know, we don’t trot out this stuff as trophies. You know, the fact of the matter is this was somebody who was– deserving of the justice that he received. And I think– Americans and people around the world are glad that he’s gone. But– but we don’t need to spike the football. And– I think that given the– the graphic nature of these photos– it would– create some national security risk. And I’ve discussed this with– Bob Gates and Hillary Clinton and– my intelligence teams and they all agree.
For me, I feel that if the photos were released it would be just like a member of al-Qaeda holding up the head of an American they just beheaded. Images like that are used to embolden groups of people. This isn’t a game.
The “discussion” surrounding this whole event is stunning to me. Get it together, America. The world is watching and you’re embarrassing the hell out of the majority of us that are sane, logical thinkers.
J. Michael Bailey, professor of the human-sexuality course that’s at the center of this “controversy” said, ”sticks and stones may break your bones, but watching naked people on stage doing pleasurable things will never hurt you.” True story.
Three Questions-
Come on Mother Nature, don’t be a bitch. Please leave Heinz Field (in Pittsburgh) alone on Saturday. Let the Capitals and Penguins play without any issues alright?
